Okay, Ogres, get ready to ride buildings. In this scenario our faithful GM seeks to recreate the movie Dark City's dramatic building fight scene using 40K scenery with a vengeance!

What this scenario requires:
1) 250 pts of one (1) Fast Attack choice (Vehicles ARE allowed, but see the following caveats)

2) Running cleats

3) Brains! (Always!)

4) $5 entry.

If you haven't seen the movie Dark City, WATCH IT, or you won't get half of the drama. Watching the movie is not required, however.

Things to know in picking your Fast Attack choice:
A) If any model gets hit by a building, they are auto-hit, but strength is variable (dependent on speed of building)
B) If any model is sandwiched by two buildings, they are squished, dead, no save (even invulnerables)
C) A model CAN ride buildings, but if the building collides with another there will be special tests done to see if you keep your footing...
D) Any vehicle hit by a building is treated as being rammed by a tank with armor 15. This means, with the speed of buildings, the str hit may be as much as 8...if it can handle that, have fun :)
E) Any vehicle sandwiched by TWO buildings is auto-wrecked. Not even a Monolith can handle being squished.
F) Teleporting is impossible - only the Necron Wraith can phase through buildings, but even they will get tagged by a building during the building phase.

The date of the scenario is the last Friday in September: September 25th.

Get ready for Chaos-fun!

Nrgh, I WILL be there this Friday, despite my car (which got hit and lost it's front bumper Wednesday). Hopefully all will go well and I'll make it there.

Blargh - Okay, assuming I'm well, this Friday is Dark City. 3pm is general start time as usual, cover is $5.

By the way, a teaser for October's game - the day before Halloween, and trying a Fantasy theme! AKA, Fright Night! I'll get a work up on it over the coming week or so, assuming I can shake this cold.

Yep - had a fever of 100 this morning. Don't feel TOO bad, but for everyone's sake, lets put this off for a week. I apologize for this, but can't avoid it.

I can't make it this week, but if it's postponed, I can make it

I seem to have picked up a head cold - so if things don't improve by tomorrow, I'll have to postpone the event a week. If I do, I'll give Face-man a call and let him know.

For now, assume it's on unless you get there and are told it's off - or check this thread tomorrow before you come - I'll post my status here in the late morning/afternoon.

Um...can't really. The only hint I'll give is you will NOT need to pick up things - it'll be switches as before.

And to clarify the teleporting rule - Anything in which the fluff describes "warp space" or traveling through another dimension is covered by this rule - and a good compromise that was suggested by Caleb which I thought was fair was any FA unit that uses teleport as it's mode of locomotion (wraiths and warp spiders) will take a DANGEROUS terrain test if they go THROUGH terrain rather than over or around.

Can you give us an idea of what sort of objectives there are? That will make a huge difference in choosing which fast attack choice I want to use.

I'm usually only there on Tuesdays and Fridays, sorry. And Winged Warriors would probably be the way to go in this scenario - fast and fairly durable.

If you check your codex, I think Tyranids only have 2 viable Fast Attack choices: Raveners and Gargoyles. It's been a while since I played Tyranids, but Ravener's are CC machines and Gargoyles are Termagaunts with wings. Between the 2, I never ran Gargoyles b/c I never liked them, but I did use Raveners somewhat often since they tended to do well in close combat (that was 4th Ed. though... they're a bit worse off now that rending isn't as good).

Spore Mines (I believe) are a Fast Attack choice, but it'd be a bad idea to use here.
