Hey there, I'm new to the area and I'm in need of a good 40k league to jump into and this sounds right up my alley. I'd love to be considered in on this if there are still any slots available. |
I love apocalypse and planetstrike. PM me if you want to play. 40k armies: CSM, Tyranids, I.G. WFB: Lizardmen Warmachine/Hordes: Circle Orboros. Interested in: Maleveaux, Infinity, AT-43, Heavy Gear. Anima Tactics. If theres enough interest in these I might pick them up. |

Feel free to prepay at the store - We've got 3 signed up right now, so when we get to eight, we launch. I can take up to 12 however.
First meeting will be November 14th at noon IF we have 8 confirmed PAID. If this is not the case, I'll post on here that it's a scrub the preceeding Friday and we'll try again three weeks later on the first Saturday of December. So CHECK THE FORUMS on Friday night before coming down here, or give the store a call, or come ask me on Friday when I'm working at the store - one of those three.
If you've paid, get your 2,000 pt army list in order, we'll try to get a game in on that day if possible (and if we have the tables and room ready at that point). |

Hey doc, Your first game says Beachead for type and game: Do you think (its only a suggestion) that the first game could be planet strike. [ if possible I just thought that it might make the senario feel more life like......]

Okay peeps, scroll back to the first page and read the updated rules - I bought Planetary Empires and it's ruleset is MUCH superior to the Mighty Empires. So I've now modified THAT slightly, and posted the revised ruleset.
Also, we have 3 people pre-paid for Mittennacht so far - I'm not starting this thing until 8 are pre-paid. Unless a miracle happens on Friday, the first meeting will be postponed till the first Saturday of December - I'll talk to people at the store tomorrow.
By the way, the new merc rules are neat...I can't wait to field a Deathstrike with my Necrons! *evil laugh* |

| Can Space Marines pull allies from other space marine books, such as Codex Marines pulling allies from Space Wolves or Dark Angels having Blood Angels allies? |

Yep, as mercenaries. Bear in mind you must use the most recent codex for said book.
Also, we are now at 6 prepaid, so just two more and we can get started. Let's make the semi-official date of starting the first Saturday in December - I.E. December 6th. And for those who haven't signed up...*poke* |

What time on Saturday? And what will the meeting schedule be after that? I've got a flexible schedule but I need to plan ahead. Joel |

Usually noon, then we meet every other Saturday.
Also, Just to let you guys know about my involvement - I'm the spoiler as well as GM. My territory is predetermined, and cannot expand. However, players cannot attempt to "conquer" one of my territories unless they are adjacent to it - any other victories can be used for other purposes (such as upgrading, or conquering unoccupied territories).
Hope this clarifies, and welcome to Mittennacht - we have 7 now, and probably will get our eighth (or more) today. Remember, the max is 12... |

Thanks to Caleb, we now have eight. Might have more lurking out there, but the deadline is now final - Dec. 5th (and gotta sign up before then!) is the first date. I need EVERYONE to be there, at least for the first hour or two - we start at noon. Games can be played, but are not required on that day - it's the map session and scenario hand-out.
We have a good line-up of peeps, so things should be...interesting and competitive.
Gear up, and this is what everyone nees to bring on Dec. 5th: 1) Themselves 2) Their 2000 pt. army list, printed out so it can be handed to the GM for archival purposes 3) Their 2000 pt. army, if they want to get games in.

Doc, you're rocking Ogre's Event World! AWESOME JOB, DUDE!
I have one question, though....and this one's been bugging me all day since i first read it.

So.... *scratches head*...If a player screws up on #1, and therefore arrives in person but without "Themselves", then do we, as Ogre-Staff, count that player as having attended or do we mark it as a no-show? Were they here or not?
Maybe we can create a scoring category like: "Player X showed up today but just wasn't himself"...
hmmmm... Rooster? Logic help, please...
heh... Kidding, Doc! (just picking on ya....again..sorry)
Great job in getting this event to 8 peeps! Let's get it to 12 so there's some SERIOUS PRIZES at the end, right?
This one's gonna be tons-o-fun, folks! Thanks to all who have signed up. |

Well, we just passed Halloween, so I suppose it's possible for players to arrive without being themselves...
Oookay, now I need more pain meds. *winces at the mental chicanery* |

I'll be a few minutes late this saturday as I work until 12. Noon on saturdays is going to be hard for me to make on a regular basis as I usually work till 5.

mmkay. Honestly, if you can't make it at noon you might miss out on some advantages, but if you at least make it at some point on Saturday, you'll still be able to get your map victory rolls done and pick up the scenario for the next round. I think that's good enough. Also, and this is for everyone - if you're not going to be able to make it, TELL ME AHEAD OF TIME. If you don't show up on Saturday and I wasn't told why, you do not get any victory resolutions (in other words, you won't be able to take over any territories). If you don't show up on Saturday and you told me why by Friday, I'll let you get your victory resolutions in.
So - if you miss and you didn't tell me before hand, I can't help you. And by miss I mean you don't show up at ALL on Saturday. I think this is plenty reasonable enough.
Also, an additional fun thing for everyone - here are the official prizes for the competition:
1st Prize: 65% of pool money 2nd Prize: 25% of pool money Fellowship Prize: Assault on Black Reach box set.
The Fellowship prize is awarded after the Campaign is over, and is judged on the following criteria: 1) Sportsmanship (I.E. were you a good winner/loser and made the game fun) 2) Army Appearance (Is it painted? Conversions galore?) 3) Army Theme (Who had the best themed army - like a Christmas Dark Angel theme, etc. Also included in this is the cheese factor, in a negative way: If the army is "cheesy", it is not themed well.)
How exactly these are judged will be told at the end of the Campaign. |

Hey Doc, I am completely out of pocket Saturday and cannot make it to the store at all.
Is it possible for me to show up Friday and hand in my list and take care of business? Or would Sunday be better?
Also, any concerns if I swing by today to see about the flags? I was out of town for the Holidays and I'm just now catching up on posts and emails.
Thanks. |

| Question about the painted part, is it painted at the start of the campaign or painted at the end of the campaign? |

Heh. One question at a time then.
Re: Flags - I'll be bringing my Mittennacht stuff to work with me starting Wednesday, so you can paint yours then if you need.
Re: Coming Friday - err, do you mean you'll NEVER be able to come to a Saturday, or just the first one? As far as I'm concerned, coming Friday and giving me a list is a workaround, and I'll make sure to have the scenario ready by then. However, if this is a ongoing problem then we may need to talk. This first Saturday I'll just place your starting location for you.
Re: Painted - it's at the end of the campaign, so you'll have quite a while to get figs painted up. Be aware however that some of it is definately subjective...so if someone only played you early and hasn't seen your latest painted figs, your score might get docked. That shouldn't be too much of a problem, however, and it's only part of the overall fellowship score.
Just to let people know, we have 9 registered, plus me, and there might be another two tonight (Mims and company) so if that is the case we'll be at 11 for the campaign, 12 if you include me.
All I have to say is this: This is going to be FUN. |

| I'm good to make most Saturdays, just not this one. There's a story to accompany, but basically, I'm stick at home for a week or so. I'm hoping to be free Friday to just make an appearance and drop my list off before vanishing again. |
