Whilst assisting to put away newly discovered piles of Back Issues this weekend, I stumbled across this book. Now you might be thinking "The title doesn't run anymore. How can it be #48?" Well, in keeping with the raising of the dead theme in Blackest Night, DC brought back 9 titles for a one issue run that tied into BN. This was one such title.

The cover is what snagged me right away. One of the coolest Black Lantern drawings I'd seen throughout this series. It's Osiris rising out of his tomb with a small cloud of smoke eminating from his black ring. It just looks wicked cool! For those not in the know (much like myself until I read it) Osiris was an aide of Black Adam in the normal series and eventually a Teen Titan (I believe). He was betrayed and murdered by a good friend (who also makes an appearance as a Black Lantern).

The book works really well as a short one shot. It's essentially those two dueling it out and Osiris coming to grips with his previous death adn the fact that his country men now fear him. Lets face it, he looks like a walking corpse; think I'd be a little afraid as well.

If you're looking to complete the Blackest Night run, don't overlook this book. It's a good read with some nice art. And it's a piece of interesting history since again the title is no longer running. I know for sure I put a couple of these out. And what better time to pick it up since the Ogre is currently running 25% off back issues of non current running series? For less than $3, get a nice book and a diversion.

Until next time...I really need a good catch phrase here.
